OPPOSITION IN SPIRITUAL LIFE

THEME: OPPOSITION IN SPIRITUAL LIFE
KEY SCRIPTURES: ACTS 5:38-39.

Life is at two levels. Spiritual and physical. Spiritual life is 80% and is inseen while 20% is seen which is physical. The spiritual controls the physical.The enemy always fights what’s in the spiritual world. Failure in spiritual life manifests in physical world. The enemy brings opposition in prayer life, reading the word, tithing , preaching the word of God and even witnessing God’s workings in our lives. To the scriptures

‘Therefore, in the present case I advise you: leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.’ Acts 5:38-39(NIV).

After Peter and other apostles had achieved great feats in Jesus name, the enemy decided to fight back. The high priest and all his associates who were members of the party of the Sadducees were filled with jealousy. They orchestrated their arrest and jailing. However God send His angel who released them. Then God removed the opposition using Gamaliel. Through him we learn that whatever has been started by God cannot be stopped. However if it is human effort and purpose, it’s bound to fail, but what God has purposed must be carried to completion.

As a Christian, you must be spiritually awake to decipher handling the spirit of opposition. Stephen was stoned. Paul and Silas were imprisoned. Daniel was thrown in the den of lions. Peter and apostles were jailed. If you handle it wrongly, the results can be devastating.

I pray that you will be able to handle all opposition the enemy is throwing in your family, career, finances, children, work, occupation and even ministry. The Lord is a warrior. He will fight for you. Be still and let God be God in your life.
