KEY SCRIPTURES: JOHN 11:21-25
21 “Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.” 23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;
Jesus said to Martha to have faith that her brother Lazarus was not dead. Though Martha trusted Jesus, she had doubts in the word of God. She knew the word of God that the brother would be resurrected. However, she did not believe in it that it could happen at the very time of speaking. We are not only called to know the word of God, but to believe in it. This teaches us that we should have faith in God’s word, for God’s word breaks down all mountains and boundaries in our life and brings to life all that is dead in our lives.
The bible tell us to believe and we will see the glory of God just us Lazarus was raised from the dead. Believing in Gods word also bring healing and deliverance in our life. Whatever we need in life is in the hands of God. We only need to have faith in Him, because those who believe in God will live even though they die and whoever lives by believing in God will never die
The word of God has power to destroy and break all limitations .The word of God is like a magnet for it draws you closer to God .There is power of healing and resurrection in the Word. The Word of God should take pre-eminence in our lives and other engagements take a back row. Jesus is not only life but also conduits life to believers so that death will not triumph over them. Believers in the word may die physically but they have eternal life, their physical death is not their ultimate end but the beginning of eternity.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.
