PRAYER

Welcome to our Sermon

PRAYER

Theme: Prayer

Scriptures: Romans 12:12; 1st Thessalonians 5:17

Do you pray? If yes, how do you pray? Prayer is an expression of faith since it involves talking to God whom you don’t see. It is a discreet communication with the ultimate Maker. We ought to always pray since we are praying to a God who answers prayers. Ask Elijah, Daniel and even Jesus Christ when He was a human being on earth.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12[NIV].

Though we pray, things may not actualize immediately or as expected. We ought to be patient and joyful. No grumbling. God hates grumbling. Patience in essence should not just be about how long we wait, but how well we behave as we wait [ Joyce Meyers}. God doesn’t promise us a smooth roller-coaster. He thus beseeches us to be patient in our suffering as we hold on our hope joyfully. We can learn from Abraham on waiting upon God’s promises. They are yes and amen in Jesus Christ.

“Pray continually.” 1st Thessalonians 5:17 [NIV]

We are called upon to pray without ceasing. Prayer is the point of meeting God in faith. It is an ultimate expression of our faith. Believing without seeing. It’s not praying today, tomorrow then giving up next week. It is making prayer part of your routine. It should be your way of life. When you go down on your knees in prayer, God stands up for you. And who can stand up against God? Hallelujah!

in Luke 18: 1-8, Jesus gives a parable of the persistent widow and the unfair judge who had no regard for both God nor man. However the persistence of the widow pleading her case to him made him respond to her. How much more do you think God who is Just will respond to your persistent prayers?

Persist and have faith as you pray. May the Good Lord give you a testimony before the week ends in Jesus name. Amen.
